Department of Physical Education and Sports Science

The Department of Physical Education and Sports Science was created in 2017-2018 and it is one of the mixed scientific departments and it is the first department in which girls are accepted in Al-Anbar Governorate

Objectives

1- Training a qualified staff of physical education teachers for the High and Secondary schools.

2- Achieving efficiency and quality in all scientific fields.

3- Spreading culture and awareness in all fields of sport.

4- Effectively contributing to community service to practice various kinds of sports and their positive effects on public health.

Vision

Preparing scientific staff qualified to work in the fields of scientific research and sports training in clubs and youth centers. The Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences aspires to be among the accredited scientific departments scientifically according to quality standards through teaching curricula that go in line with the students’ capabilities in order to raise the scientific, educational and administrative level to cope with the modern scientific development.

Mission

Spreading the culture of physical education and sports science among the community, and preparing scientific, educational and sports staff to serve athletic youth and promote sports in the Governorate.

Alumni Description

Creating a distinguished educational staff that can work in all countries, Iraqi educational institutions, youth and sports centers, prototypical venues and in the private sector.

The study period is four years where s/he studies specialized theoretical and scientific courses and some sciences are taught together with the medical, statistical, administrative and psychology aspects. Graduated students are granted a bachelor’s degree in physical education and sports sciences.
