on tuesday, 12th march 2024, the department of english language at university of almaarif organized a joint scientific seminar entitled (defamiliarization as a poetic technique), given by asst. dr. marwan khalil yousif – a lecturer in the department, along with asst. lec. shamam ishmail atiwi- department of english language, and asst. lec. alia abd muhsin – section of contribution and public relations – university of anbar, addressing the inoperability of the technique of alienation. the workshop focused on exploring how this technique presents common notions in a new, unfamiliar light to provoke fresh insights and reflections. the seminar was engaged based on the scientific cooperation between university of almaarif and other public and governmental institutions to raise the scientific knowledge within the college.
