The College of Law at University of Al-Maarif, held an awareness seminar entitled (The Role of Universities in Combating Hate Speech and Community Violence), given by the lecturer Mr. Thakir Mardhi, in cooperation with the Office of the High Commission for Human Rights in Al-Anbar, in cooperation with the Continuing Learning Centre at the College.
The seminar discussed hate speech, its causes and forms, the community violence that may arise from it, and the role that universities play in confronting that speech and thwarting its goals.It was attended by Prof. Dr. Khalid Awad Al-Alwani, Dean of College of Law, Prof. Mohammed Qasim, Manager of the Office of the High Commission for Human Rights in Al-Anbar, and several lectures, guests, and students.
