On Sunday, 2nd April 2023, the Department of Medical Laboratory Techniques at Al-Maarif University College held a scientific seminar entitled “The Negative Effects of Smoking on the Individual and Society”. The symposium benefited the harm of smoking on different body organs, its complications shortly, its negative impact on community members (Passive Smoking), and ways to reduce it.
The seminar was given by Dr. Tamara Mufeed, with several students from the department Ali Mohammed Farhan, and Mawj Mahmood Shakir.
This seminar came as part of the series of activities organized by the department, in cooperation with the Directorate of Al-Anbar Health, and the Continuing Learning Unit, under the supervision of the Deanship of the College.
