The third and fourth year students of College of Pharmacy at University of Al-Maarif visited Al-Ramadi Hospital – Kidney Washing Unit and Oncology Hospital in Ramadi to strengthen the applied aspects of the study materials, and to provide students with a practical vision about the working mechanisms of specialized health units, such as the dialysis unit and various disease treatment departments.
The students were welcomed by medical staff at the hospital, where detailed explanations were provided on the mechanism of dialysis, the devices used and the patients’ treatment protocols. Students also learned about the challenges facing health workers in providing health care in the region.
At the end of the visit, the students participated in an environmental initiative aimed at improving the surrounding environment of the hospital, where they planted many trees in the surrounded areas.
