On Wednesday, 22nd May 2024, the Unit of Women Affairs at Al-Maarif University College held an awareness seminar entitled (Harmful effects of domestic violence and ways to address this phenomenon), in cooperation with the Dean of the College Dr. Ahmed Abd Al-Malik, and Head of Law Department Asst. Prof Dr. Khalid Awad Alawani. The seminar aimed to demonstrate the impact of violence on women and children in particular and family in general, and legal terms as well as how to make a stable family free from violence and protect it by the law and Islamic sharia. The seminar included several topics, including the definition of violence and its impact on society and family, how to get rid of its effects and reduce its prevalence, how to deal with it by general law and Islamic law, and how to protect women and children from the violence to which they are subjected.
