The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced the results of Iraq’s classification of scientific departments in private and public universities and colleges. The results which are completed by the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority include (1875) scientific departments in (95) private and public Universities and colleges. The classification came based on 40% of the criteria of programme accreditation, the academic staff 25%, students 20%, and international classifications of academic disciplines 15%. Al-Maarif University College has achieved the following centres: – Second place in (English) at the level of private universities and colleges. – Second place in (Finance and Banking Sciences) at the level of private universities and colleges. – Third place in (Computer Science) at the level of private universities and colleges. – Fourth place in (Arabic language) at the level of private universities and colleges. The other majors have also achieved a good advanced ranking compared with the private universities and colleges. This achievement came due to compliance the college with the policy of enhancing responsiveness to quality requirements, developing the educational environment and measuring institutional performance indicators.
