On Wednesday, 26th June 2024, Asst. Lec. Alaa Hamid Mohammed, participated at the National Council for Accreditation of Academic Programmes for Technical Departments, Colleges and Institutes in Iraq entitled (Centrality of the Application of Programme Accreditation Standards for Health and Medical Technology Institutes and Colleges), headed by Prof. Dr. Shukriya Shouhan, Chair of the National Council of Technical Institutes and Colleges. The workshop dealt with programme accreditation and mechanisms for its application in public and private universities, explaining general concepts and terminology and national standards for the adoption of health and medical techniques programmes. It also explained the measures of appreciation of the National Council’s criteria for the adoption of the programmes of the colleges of health and medical techniques, the organizational steps to obtain the adoption of the academic programme, the general framework for writing the self-assessment report, the improvement plan and the basis for writing the conformity report. At the end of the workshop, a clarifying lecture was given to clarify the applicable aspect of the standards and how to upload the required documents within each standard, as well as to emphasize the importance of documenting the procedures related to them during the academic year. These requirements are one of the requirements of the approved local and international classifications.
