English Department

The English Department is one of the leading departments in Al-Marrif University College. It has been founded in the academic year 2002 – 2003. Many qualified Ph.D. and M.A. holders in language and literature work in the department, this coincides with the policy of Al-Marrif University College to recruit highly qualified teachers as to establish programs of postgraduate studies in future.

Objectives and Aims

Providing qualified and competent graduate students in English language for the local and regional labor market by offering them highly qualified faculty members in the use of English skills: Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.

Developing English skills of students and their potentials in thinking, analyzing and scientific research.

Vision

The English Department works for the preparation of competitive graduates students by offering advanced education that meets international standards and adopting the best methods of English language teaching and English literature that apply scientific methods of modern era.

Mission

The English Department strives to prepare qualified and competent students in the mastery of literature and the English language for the skills. Also to meet the needs of local, regional and international labor market in terms of teaching, translation and scientific research.

Description of Graduate Student 

One of its main goals is to prepare highly qualified graduate students to work as teachers of English at secondary and intermediate schools in government and private sectors.
