On Monday, 10th February 2025, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Law organized a legal seminar entitled (Legal Response to the Negative Phenomena Facing Women), in collaboration with the Women’s Affairs Division at the Rectorate, given by Asst. Lec. Hamid Ibrahim, discusses several negative phenomena faced by women, such as gender-based discrimination, violence against women, and certain cultural practices and traditions that undermine the status of women or deny the legal rights.
The seminar addressed the main legal approaches to combating these phenomena, which include adopting a legal effort involving a review of existing legislation and proposing new legal provisions to address existing gaps, in addition to promoting a community awareness effort in this regard.
This seminar was held based on the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research regarding the implementation of the Third National Plan for Women, Peace, and Security – the Protection and Prevention Pillar for 2025.
