On Monday 24th June 2024, the Continuing Learning Unit at Al-Maarif University College held a symposium on community safety and emergency safety guidance in cooperation with the Directorate of Civil Defence. The symposium was presented by Brigadier General Riyadh Amir Ahmed of the Directorate of Civil Defense in Anbar, managed by Dr. Ahmed Abd Al-Jabbar, the manager of the unit. The symposium addressed the role of young people in raising awareness in the community regarding fire cases, community rescue teams, the proper reporting of emergencies, their numbers, the use of portable fireplaces, simple fire suppression and many safety guidelines. The symposium included an interactive session and questions replied by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abd Al-Malik.
