The Cup of Al-Maarif for the Championship of Chess was concluded, which lasted from the 9th to the 10th of October 2024, and was organized by the Student Activities Division, in cooperation with the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University.
The championship was attended by the Rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abd Al-Malik Al-Saadi, the Rector’s Administrative Assistant, Dr. Muthanna Abd Al-Wahab Al-Mawla, and the Dean of College of Law, Prof. Dr. Khalid Awad, under the supervision of the Sub-Federation of the Game.
The Department of Medical Laboratories Techniques – College of Health and Medical Techniques won first place in the team system, while the College of Pharmacy won second place.
As for the individual system, first place went to the Department of Computer Engineering Techniques- College of Engineering, as the Department of Computer Sciences – College of Science won second place.
In conclusion, prizes and gifts were distributed to the winners by the Dean of College of Law.
