On Tuesday, 18th February 2025, College of Health and Medical Technologies at University of Al-Maarif, organized a scientific seminar titled (Drugs and its Influence on Society) in collaboration with Anbar Health Directorate – Al-Shifa General Hospital and the Rehabilitation Centre for Drug Addicts in Anbar, given by Dr. Ibtihal Kadhim – Al-Shifa General Hospital, Captain Namir Sami Anad – Rehabilitation Centre for Drug Addicts in Anbar, and Asst. Lec. Abdulqadir Asaad – College of Health and Medical Technologies – University of Al-Maarif.
The seminar addressed the health and psychological risks of drug use, its influence on society and families, as well as prevention and treatment strategies. Presented by experts in the medical and academic fields, the discussion emphasized the importance of raising public awareness about addiction risks, strengthening the role of health and educational institutions in prevention, and intensifying research.
