University of Al-Maarif Celebrates the International Day of the Arabic Language

On Saturday, 28th December 2024, Department of Arabic Language organized a celebratory festival on the occasion of the International Day of the Arabic Language, under the slogan (Arabic is the Language of the Holy Quran), under the patronage of the Rector of University of Al-Maarif, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abd Al-Malik Al-Saadi, in the presence of Sheikh Dr. Abd Al-Razzaq Al-Saadi.

The festival included various segments, including opening remarks that shed light on the status and importance of the Arabic language as the language of the Holy Quran, given by Prof. Dr. Abd Al-Razzaq Al-Saadi, in addition to literary and poetic performances presented by the department’s students expressing their love and pride in their mother tongue, it also included discussion panels that addressed the challenges facing the Arabic language in the modern era and ways to enhance its use in various fields, in addition to an exhibition of historical Arabic books and manuscripts.

The event was attended by many academics, lecturers, and students, in addition to several figures interested in the Arabic language and its culture, and concluded with honouring the participants and contributors to the success of the cultural event.This festival comes within the university’s efforts to enhance interest in the Arabic language and highlight its role as part of the cultural and civilizational identity of the nation.
