On Wednesday, 23rd October 2024, the Women’s Affairs Unit at University of Al-Maarif organized an awareness campaign against breast cancer, in cooperation with College of Health and Medical Techniques – Department of Medical Laboratories Techniques, College of Pharmacy, the Division of Activities and the Continuing Learning Centre to raise awareness of the risks of this disease.
The campaign included the distribution of awareness brochures using QR technology to highlight the promotion of health awareness, the promotion of early detection of the disease, including infected, the latest studies conducted by the World Health Organization and the most important prevention methods that contribute to reducing the infection rate and provide support to women in the face of the disease using modern methods of detection.
The leaflets were distributed to female teachers and schoolgirls to deliver a humanitarian message to each educational institution by providing support, assistance and health care to every woman suffering from this disease. Education is an important and very effective means of increasing women’s care and early detection and prevention, in addition to sharing the free screening site for early breast cancer within the governorate and speeding up to health centres.
