Arabic language is one of the pillars of cultural diversity. It is one of the most widely used languages in the world, spoken by more than 400 million people. Arabic has prevailed for many centuries of its history as the language of politics, science and literature, directly or indirectly affecting many other languages in Islamic world, and in the context of supporting and promoting multilingualism and multiculturalism at the United Nations, Public Information — to a decision on the eve of International Mother Language Day to celebrate each of the six official languages of the United Nations. Accordingly, it was decided to celebrate the Arabic language Day on December 18th, being the day on which General Assembly resolution 3190 (XXVIII) of December 18, 1973, concerning the inclusion of the Arabic language among the official and working languages of the United Nations.
Accordingly, a topic is chosen for each year that is concerned with language; The theme of the International Day of the Arabic Language for this year is (Arabic Language and Civilizational Communication), and it serves as a call to emphasize the important role that Arabic language plays in building bridges of communication between people, culture, science, literature and many other fields.
Therefore, Dean of Al-Maarif University College, Prof. Dr. (Yaqoub Nadhim Ahmed), celebrated this International Day. The ceremony will take place at Al-Maarif University College, on Saturday, December 18, 2021.

• Arab Book exhibition.
• An exhibition entitled (Verse of Quran and an Image).
• Exhibition of handicrafts for students of Arabic language department.
