The Department of Computer Engineering Techniques was established in 2008 – 2009. The department considers one of the distinguished departments at Al-Maarif University College. The college was keen to hire lecturers known for their competence and scientific abilities in engineering to be the department’s staff. Graduates are specialized in computer technologies and are capable of designing electronic circuits and dealing with computer components, networking, and programming.
The department follows the semester system in the study and offers morning and evening studies.
The graduates are given a bachelor’s degree after four years of studying.

Its ambition is to be the first department to provide educational programs and technical services, depending on the spirit of competition, communication, and interaction with the community.

- To prepare engineering cadres to fill the requirements of the market need with experiencers and technical competencies.
- To train the students on how to maintain computers and use computers in the field of modern technology through practical lectures and training in laboratories, in addition to what the students obtain from theoretical lectures that are at the core of their work.
