Resist, You are the Most Precious Thing in Life

On Sunday, 10/15/2023, the Department of Pharmacy, Nursing Department, and Medical Laboratory Techniques Department at Al-Maarif University College held a scientific awareness symposium on the occasion of Solid Tumors and Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Under the slogan (Resist, You are the Most Precious Thing in Life), in cooperation with the Oncology and Breast Cancer Center in Anbar. Asst. Prof. Dr. Ibtisam Tahir Sabir, the organizer of the symposium, welcomed the distinguished guests and introduced the meaning of the breast cancer sign and the importance of communication in training students on self-disorder and access to the latest statistics and developments in treatment for this disease. First, Dr. Ahmed Teen – an oncologist began the scientific session, where he highlighted the general statistics and published the increase and rise in the world and Iraq in general and in Anbar Governorate in particular, and the extent of infection in women and men, as these rates are on an increasing rise due to early cancer.
Then, Dr. Nabil Al-Hadithi, Manager of the Center, gave a lecture on solid tumors and therapeutic medicine. The Anbar Oncology Center worked to modernize scientific treatments and apply them to Iraq despite its experience, as the center requires an individual treatment fee of $8,000, the country bears the treatment expenses.
After that, the session was continued by Dr. Ali Obaid, a lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy, who spoke about the most important topic of breast cancer, and women must undergo periodic examinations to detect this disease.

Dr. Zeina Salah – a diagnostician, discussed the importance of early detection of cancer from the main disease and that detection should be done at the age of 25 or older, as this early detection is of great importance in saving the patient’s life. Then, Dr. Zeina, the pharmacist Fidaa Harbi, and the pharmacist Elaf presented a scientific workshop to train the female students on the mechanism of the examination to be rescue soldiers for the girls of their generation. The most important recommendation of the symposium was that every woman should seek an examination to detect this disease and preserve her life.
