On Tuesday, 12th December 2023, the Unit of Continuing Learning at Al-Maarif University College held an educational workshop in cooperation with the Independent High Electoral Commission – Training Division – Anbar Election Office to learn about the voting mechanism and special polling procedures for the elections of the provincial board. Mr. Yassir Jabbar – Legal Division, explained the Elections Act (No. 4 of 2023), clarifying some of the amendments made to this Act, and the voter’s requirements, while Mr. Ahmed Ghazwan – a Training Division official, discussed the clarification of the procedures of general elections and the machinery used in the election process, the electronic verification device, which includes the voter register database of the designated station, the electronic counting and counting device responsible for the ballot paper reading process, and the results transmitter, indicating the steps of voting and how to deal with critical cases. The Commission announced that it was ready to hold the elections on time. Security cameras were used to ensure transparency of the elections and to avoid any problems at polling stations and polling stations.
