Department of Dentistry at Al-Maarif University College has accredited educational and research leadership and effective contributions to community development with competitive efficiency with the corresponding departments in other universities locally and internationally, by graduating highly skilled dentists capable of communicating and dealing with patients, achieving information and developing it with Scientific research.
Mission
Working on preparing qualified, scientifically, skillfully and professionally staff to develop health, medical, treatment and advisory services in the country and using the latest and best educational methods through an experienced scientific teaching staff with high experience in this field, conducting solid scientific research and increasing its social contribution to serve the members of the community by improving oral and dental health.
Objectives
- Graduating competent and qualified scientific staff to provide the best medical and advisory services in all the delicate specialties of dental science to take care of and promote the oral and dental health of the community and develop the continuing education of faculty members in line with the development in the delicate specialties of dentistry locally and internationally.
- Achieving the department’s mission in line with the traditions and ethical and professional values, through prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of oral and dental diseases.
- The department shall be a gateway to science, knowledge and scientific research in the fields of dental health, and a seat of modern medical education.
- Preparing graduates who are able to work in the private and public sectors, and contribute to providing advanced care in the field of dental care in Iraq.
- Providing high-quality medical education for students and practitioners in the field of dentistry, by providing an advanced educational climate with the latest technologies and distinguished academic competencies.
- Emphasis on the health principles of the proper practice of dental sciences, and raising the level of dental health.
- Performing and publishing scientific research in all dental specialties, holding seminars and training courses, holding scientific conferences and workshops, which aim to develop the scientific and practical reality.
- Providing continuing education programs for dentists from Iraq and other countries of the world.
