The team of Al-Maarif University College ranked third place in the Iraqi Universities Volleyball Championship which was held at the University of Basra. The Union of Volleyball stated that the team of Al-Maarif University College was a team that drew the attention of all presented with a high level and developed a distinct and different footprint from all the teams in the tournament. The organizing committee stated that despite the existence of teams that possess players representing the Iraqi national teams and clubs in the Iraqi Premier League, the team of Al-Maarif University College achieved victory and earned this position. The conclusion of the tournament included the culmination of the teams in first, second and third places.
