The Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences seeks to occupy a distinguished position among the colleges’ departments of physical education and sports sciences locally and globally and to be a center for attracting those who seeking knowledge and modern sciences in the fields of teaching, sports training and work with young people.
Mission
Providing society with teaching and training sports staff, high quality qualified to contribute effectively to raising the reality of sport and youth through the following of the latest curricula, ways, and scientific styles as well as concentrating on scientific research.
Objectives
- Training a qualified staff of physical education teachers for the High and Secondary schools.
- Achieving efficiency and quality in all scientific fields.
- Spreading culture and awareness in all fields of sport.
- Effectively contributing to community service to practice various kinds of sports and their positive effects on public health.
Alumni Description
Creating a distinguished educational staff that can work in all countries, Iraqi educational institutions, youth and sports centers, prototypical venues, and in the private sector. The study period is four years which s/he studies specialized theoretical and scientific courses and some sciences are taught together with the medical, statistical, administrative, and psychological aspects. Graduates are granted a bachelor’s degree in physical education and sports sciences.
