On Saturday, 4th November 2023, the Department of Medical Laboratories Techniques at Al-Maarif University College held a scientific seminar entitled (The Danger of E-Cigarettes on Society), given by Asst. Dr. Mohammed Abood Mohammed, and Asst. Lec. Mohammed Hashim Mohammed.
The symposium explained the components of e-cigarettes and their types, psychological damage and health damage to the human body. One of the most important causes of damage is addiction, mainly because they contain nicotine which causes addiction to lung disease because the liquid in the e-cigarette contains harmful components of the respiratory system such as diacetyl.
The lecturer Explained it’s damage and ways to avoid it:
- Lung damage.
- Dizziness, vomiting, or seizures.
- Difficulty focusing.
- Symptoms of depression.
- Abnormal brain development.
Then he mentioned several ways to avoid using it, and treatment methods.
- Determination and determination to leave it.
- Stay away from regular cigarettes.
- Think about the individual’s health and what it might be like to continue it.
- Get support from family and friends.
- Stay away from smoking stimuli.
