A Scientific contribution of Al-Maarif University College to support for the situation of education, Dean of the College Prof. Dr. Yaqoup Nadhim Ahmed has attended a technical Symposium that was held by the Ministry of Planning, in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on Monday 23/8/2021 during the discussion of the situation of private education in Iraq, and highlighting the roles and partnerships in the development of educational policy.
Mr. Minister of Planning Prof. Dr. Khalid Battal Al-Najim confirmed that the Ministry supports strongly the process of the advancement of private education in Iraq. The Minister has highlighted the importance of this sector in supporting the reality of development. Dr. Khalid adds “that the education of governmental universities is no longer able to accommodate students graduating from junior schools where the number has been doubled each year, noting that the share of the private education reached up to about 30% of students admitted, and the goal is to raise this ratio to 50% , pinpointing that the Ministry of planning will not hesitate in achieving scientific integrity required for private universities. The availability of the requirements of the basic needs that achieve scientific integrity, and that the Ministry will not give any approval for opening new universities or colleges only if they are adding to the feasibility of economic value, noting that private education, is an important engine to this private sector which is keen to the ministry to support and enable it and to meet the demands that fill the gaps of development, and absorb the increase of population in Iraq.
