The Continuing Education Unit and women’s affairs unit, in cooperation with the Arabic Language Department, held a scientific symposium entitled “The Importance of Family Values” The symposium was presented by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tawfiq Abdel Mohsen and Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman Hamid Thamer, faculty member at Almaarif University College, Department of Arabic Language. The symposium dealt with family values in light of the reality of current Iraqi society and external influences such as modern means of communication and modernized Western ideas and the extent of their impact on divorce rates, the importance of awareness and societal reform, and the role of Arab-Islamic morals in preserving the family, and the societal fabric.
