On Tuesday, 24th October 2023, the Department of Arabic Language at Al-Maarif University College held an educational seminar entitled (Ethics of the Teaching Profession). Asst. Prof. Dr. Abd Al-Rahman Hamid Thamir, the lecturer in the Department of Arabic Language spoke about the ethics and behaviours of the teacher, the nature of man and his morals, which are an issue of human beings. Asst. Prof. Dr. Abd Al-Rahman Hamid Thamir, mentioned the most important qualities of a good teacher and what he must do in the performance of his professional duties, including:
- Trust in Allah, and begin the day by wording him.
- put Allah’s fear in the profession, as it is considered probity.
- Turning the sight out on the way to work.
- Time is inviolable, as it is deemed to be one of the ethics of the profession and not to be procrastinated per second, to be bound by it and not to delay the date of commencement and not to delay students at the end of the lecturer time.
- Not to engage in useless discussions, and avoid what does not mean.
- Avoid gossip in the working environment and outside of it, and do not speak behind a colleague’s back or anyone else.
- Linking lectures for students to daily life, to understand and understand broader.
- Leave personal problems and stuck matters to the side and stand in front of students actively.
In conclusion, Asst. Prof. Dr. Abd Al-Rahman recommended the fact that man’s behaviour and his acquired upbringing could be changed in pursuit for the best, and one should be honest with Allah first, then with himself because the profession is probity.
